1 Dog, 2 Personalities

Dr Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde called... they want their dog back.

Take a look at these before and after images of Zoe from today. She got a bath this morning, and [sorry, Zoe, put your paws over your ears] she just looks plain scary in the post-rinse/pre-dried stage. And terrified. And evil. And remarkably like a rat with long, sopping-wet hair. The before image makes Cujo seem like Lassie.

All is well, though. In true Zoe form, she quickly recovered and looked presentable again, and - aside from not setting paw anywhere in or even near the bathroom (a.k.a. "scene of the crime") she seems to have suffered no apparent side effects. I think I have caught her giving the occasional evil eye, though. Nothing a little Beggin' Strip won't cure.

Trusty Co-Pilot

Today is a free day for me, and I couldn't be more excited about just relaxing and doing a whole lotta nothing. A free Saturday this time of year for me is a rare thing, so I'm out cruising around town with my co-pilot, Zoe, catching up on some errands. She loves getting outta the house and doing the ride thing. Just mention the letter "R" and she goes nuts and does her obligatory 'let's go' dance until I give in and we're out the door.

Yeah, she's a smart one... she's figured out the whole spell-the-word-so-the-dog-wont-understand-what-I'm-saying game. Guess I need to come up with a new set of code words.

The weather's beautiful here in Dallas this weekend (sunny and 80), so we went for a "W" today, too. She's such a poser.

Cool Spot

I was in a cab on the way back to the airport in Shanghai yesterday when I looked out the window and saw this passenger soakin' up some rays in the car next to us.

Cheap Therapy...

Here's a few gratuitous images of my therapist, little Zoe girl. She's the greatest pick-me-up after a long day, and unlike some of the kiddos who see me coming with a camera, she's always happy to see me.

I've read some articles with statistics showing people that have dogs live longer than those who don't. Count me in as a believer... there's nothing this girl can't cure.

Back Home with the Henry's

I love going back home to Ohio, especially when there's a ton of snow on the ground. I was also able to catch up with most of the ol' high school gang when I went back for a buddy's wedding last weekend. Funny how it doesn't matter how long I'm away, every time we get together it's like we haven't been apart for more than a day. I feel truly blessed to have such a solid group of guys that I grew up with.

During my stay I has able to stop by Mike and Katie Henry's house and get introduced to little Brady, the newest addition to the Henry tribe. He's a lady's man already.

Then there's Alex, Brady's big brother. You gotta be in shape to hang out with him... man, I wish I had a tenth of the energy he's got. Definitely had to crank up the shutter speed to keep him in focus.

Mikey's got a trusty German Shepherd companion named Trooper who's 11 years old now. "Troop's" been around the block a few times, and you can just tell by watching him there's nothing he wouldn't do for Mikey. He's such a great dog, and it was a privilege to capture a few images of him for the family.
